Agony in the Garden

As you continue on your Holy bible adventure to the Agony in the Garden scene – a theatrical staged performance.

After the Last supper re-enactment has ended, you see a gateway that swings open, as you enter through the gates you can barely make out what appears to be images of dark barren trees a low howling of the wind is heard as it whistles through the branches. The ground is covered in an eerie blue low lying fog that swirls around your feet as you walk. As you adventure forward you realize that you have entered into a garden. You notice that the fog is becoming heavier and, your senses tell you that evil lurks here. As you stop in the garden, you see three men sleeping by a tree, off in another part of the garden a man dressed in a white robe, he is kneeling by a large rock, upon looking closer you realize this is Jesus.(A flash of the face of Satan appears throughout the garden). He hangs his head and you hear him praying and speaking to God "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done." You see an angel from heaven appear to him and give strength to him. Jesus being in anguish prays more earnestly, and his sweat is like drops of blood falling to the ground. He stands up from prayer, and goes to his disciples, where he finds them sleeping. Jesus says to them. Why sleep ye? Rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand. As Jesus continues to speak you see the (stage left actors enter through a door off stage) flickering of flames coming from torches being carried by a group of men, they are led by Judas, he approaches Jesus to kiss him. But Jesus says, "Judas, is it with a kiss that you betray the Son of Man?" A Roman soldier grabs Jesus and one of the three disciples tries to protect Jesus and swings a sword cutting off the ear of the soldier, Jesus yells "stop," and heals the man's ear, "put your sword in its sheath. Those who take the sword will perish by the sword."

Then Jesus says to the soldiers, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness. Jesus is restrained and his hands are bound behind his back and the soldiers lead him out of the garden.
