Samson

As you continue on your holy bible adventure to the Samson scene – a staged theatrical performance.  You enter into a dimly lit room again.  You see a large curtain.  A slide presentation appears on the curtain before you with a narration explaining the story of Samson leading up to Samson  bound between two pillars/the death of Samson.  After The presentation the lights go out.  The curtain opens and the performance begins. Now you see before you a large crowd of people (painted on the walls and props).  They appear to be laughing as Samson is led by a child to two large pillars.  His arms are bound by chains that are attached to the large stone pillars.  Each pillar is sculpted in the resemblance of the Philistines god they worship named Dagon.  Above the Pillars is a stone roof also engraved with a depiction of Dagon.  You hear the roar of the crowd as they continue to mock Samson.  Standing in front of Samson is a young boy - he touches Samson’s hand. Samson speaks to him saying, “Let me feel the pillars on which the house rests, that I may lean against them.”  Then Samson called to the LORD and said, “O Lord GOD, please remember me and please strengthen me just this time, O God, that I may at once be avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.”  Samson grasped the two middle pillars on which the house rested, and braced himself against them, the one with his right hand and the other with his left.  And Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines?” You see Samson pushing against the two stone pillars with all his might, and you hear the grumbling and grinding of stone against stone.  Samson lets out a huge roar as he pushes on the pillars.  You see the pillars beginning to shift SUDDENLY! The pillars collapse onto Samson and the roof, THE ROOF is falling, it is crumbling and fall right towards you!  Lights go out just before it appears to hit the customers!

The curtain closes.
