Fiery Furnace

As you continue on your holy bible adventure to the Fiery Furnace scene – a staged theatrical performance. You enter into a very dimly lit room. Then the lights go out and you are in complete darkness. You hear an overhead sound of roaring, crackling fire and then you hear a voice saying these words, "Your Majesty," said the magicians, sorcerers and wise men, "Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego do not worship the golden statue you have set up in the plain of Dura."

The King bellowed, "Is this true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that when you heard the sound of the horn, the pipe, the lyre, the trigon and drum and all the musical instruments, you did not fall down and worship the golden statue I have set up in the plain of Dura? Listen to me! When you hear these sounds, if you do not fall down and worship the golden statue I have set up in the plain of Dura, you shall be thrown into the fiery furnace! Who do you think can save you?"

"The God of heaven can save us," answer Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. "His power is greater than yours, and he can save us from your fiery furnace. But even if he chooses not to save us, we will not worship your god, or bow down before the golden statue you have set up in the plain of Dura."

The king yells "Turn up the heat to seven times hotter than ever before, tie them up and throw them into the furnace!"

The light comes on in the room and the performance begins,

You notice all around you are flames they lick at the walls that surround you. You realize that you are inside a large white stoned furnace, smoke billows out of the vents and you can see flames bouncing of the walls within the furnace. You hear a voice, it tells you to not be afraid for the flames will not harm you nor will the heat of them burn you. You hear the fire crackle and snap and see the flames dance on the walls of the furnace and you can feel the heat against your skin but they do not harm you. Standing in the furnace you see, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and an angel sent by God appears right in front of your eyes! Again you hear the king yelling "Didn't we tie up three men and throw them into the blazing fire?

"Yes we did," said the magicians, sorcerers and wise men.

"Then why do I see FOUR men in the fire!" "They are not tied up, and they are not hurt and one of them looks like a God!"

King Nebuchadnezzar calls out, "Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the One True God! Come out!" "Praise the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego! He has sent his angel and rescued the men who serve him so faithfully!

Scene lights go out and you exit the room.
