David and Goliath

As you continue on your holy bible adventure to the David and Goliath scene – a staged theatrical performance, you enter into a dimly lit room again. You see a large curtain. A slide presentation appears on the curtain before you with a narration explaining the story of David and Goliath leading up to David slaying Goliath. After The presentation the lights go out. The curtain opens and the performance begins. The scene is set to look like a mountain range, you see painted on the back and side walls depictions of the Philistine armies and the Israelites. You hear the almost deafening sound of the Philistine army as they begin to stomp their feet, and shields against the ground, cheering their champion on! You see a giant of a man clad in full chainmail armor, a large shield he bares in one hand and a spear in the other, a large sword hangs in its sheath on the side of his massive leg. Goliath says to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field! Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD's, and he will give you into our hands. Now Goliath laughs and mocks as he starts his approach towards David. David reaches into his pouch and places a stone within his sling. He swings it with all his might hitting Goliath square in his forehead. Goliath stumbles as the blood begins to drip from his head; he staggers towards a large rock and falls to the ground at David's feet. The Phillistine army becomes quiet and you now hear the cheers from the Israelites! David leans over the body of Goliath and withdraws the man's sword from its sheath, David raises the sword high, as he grabs Goliath's head by his hair, he swings with all of his might! (Lights Flicker out and back on) you can hear the sound of the sword as it slices clean. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled. The painted walls will change to show the Philistines fleeing and being pursued by the Israelites this happens when the lights flicker out as mentioned above. David leans over and grabs the head of Goliath, he holds high in the air for all to see as the Israelites continue their pursuit and you hear their cheers of victory!

Lights go out and the curtain closes.
